“Do I Really Need a Storm Shelter in Madison County?”
An F4 passed just north of Richmond in April 1974, destroying thirty homes and leaving F4 damage across southwest Madison County. Two more Richmond tornadoes on record came down before five in the morning, one at the ordnance depot and one through student housing at what is now Eastern Kentucky University.
